The Blackhawks will be without a big offensive presence when they face Florida Wednesday, as head coach Joel Quenneville said that winger Patrick Sharp will miss time following a collision with the Coyotes’ Rostislav Klesla in Phoenix on Sunday.
“Sharpy’s going to be out, but we hope to have him back before the end of the regular season,” Quenneville said. “It’s not long-term; he’s [felt] better over the last couple of days. We’ll see his progress.”
Sharp has led the Blackhawks in goals most of the season and ranks fifth in the league with 34 tallies. Sharp’s 68 points is second on the team behind his linemate Jonathan Toews.
The Blackhawks’ final game of the 2010-11 regular season is Sunday, April 10 at home against Detroit.
Injury Updates:
Brian Campbell skated with the team on Tuesday, and could return as soon as Wednesday night… Dave Bolland remains out of practice. Quenneville said his status remains “unchanged.”

This is definitely a shame. Sharpie is a HUGE factor on the Blackhawks team. He was one of the main players that carried the team through the first half.
I’m a big Toews fan and think he is a great captain. But sometimes I think Sharp is overlooked. He’s a great player and an even better teammate. He goes out there to win games not to win recognition.
It was up to me Patrick Sharp would be MVP!!!
Hope you heal soon and are back out on the ice!!!!!
Way to go Sharpie!

Jim You Hit The Nail On The Sweet Spot Here! Patrick Sharp is the “Keystone” to the Blackhawks Success! Lets rewind to the cup final! Here are some#s : Sharp: 4goals 2assists at a plus7(game 6 : 1goal at a plus 3) Toews: 2assists at a minus5 (game 6:1assist at a minus1). I Love Johnny Toews like a brother, but, when the cup was on the line #10 was “Captian Clutch”"

yeah yeah …… Patty rest up cause we need ya for the playoffs. I would not panic just yet.
March 25, 2011 at 11:15 am
we might not make it to the post-season without him, so you can be a little panicked.
March 22, 2011 at 4:36 pm
The Hawks have done it before, they’ll just have to do it again (play without a star). It’s just the worst time of the season to have to do it again. Good luck guys! You’re sure gonna need it!

Hopefully with only 2 games from now until Saturday, his knee will start feeling better and we can expect him back sooner. It will be a rough stretch without Sharpy and we are too close to being knocked below the cut off.

Bad timing to loose Sharp w/ 7 out of the next 10 games being extremely difficult opponents. His presence will be sorely missed.Bolland is a big factor, also.I hope he isn’t out much longer. He’s a great two way player.

We need our Sharpie, saw the hit, not good. Hope Patrick heals fast and gets the rest needed to come back and put on a great show (as always) for us. I agree, for his huge contributions he is over looked. Toews and Kane are good, but Sharp is a HUGE factor for this team.

Get well soon Sharpie we need you for the playoffs.
March 23, 2011 at 8:14 am
Thank God it is not more serious!

We are going to miss Sharp, but coach Q always has something up his sleeve I have faith in our coach. Campoli is a great addition I like the offensive defenseman . Where I get nervous is when I see number 2 on the ice, it just seems like he turns the puck over too often and needs to make better decisions. Keep up the great work out there Blackhawks you brought us another exciting year and we are proud of the entire organization. good luck going forward

Hope you are on the ice soon. We all need you… The boys will need to step up and shine, like we know you could..
March 23, 2011 at 3:31 pm
Get better soon Sharpie, you are a huge part of the success of this team even if people overlook you at times, they know it now. Class at all the way.
March 23, 2011 at 3:43 pm
Sharpie we will miss you, but maybe this is a good thing. Now that he is out, maybe everyone else will kick it into high gear and we can play like the fantastic team that we are. We’ll be able to push past this no problem
March 23, 2011 at 7:33 pm
Hope you heel up soon. The team really needs a guy that plays with the heart that you do. It’s really great that you are having such a stelar season. I hope your back for the 5th of April as I will be a fan from Montreal sitting in the stands cheering the Hawks and hopefully you on….
March 23, 2011 at 8:41 pm
Sharp is the best of the best on ice and off. Get better soon….will miss you on the ice.
The #10 in Chicago!
March 23, 2011 at 10:04 pm
Sharpie is the Man… Better sign him long term. For now, Johnny T-bird & Kaner will continue to rip it up.
‘WHAT A TEAM !!!’
March 24, 2011 at 4:44 am
Heal up quick Sharpie. We love ya & miss seeing you in the game.
March 25, 2011 at 4:01 pm
Losing Sharpie was devastating news… and I can’t say Bolland’s situation is any better (although I have not heard much about it??).. But not to fear Blackhawks Fans, we have Captain Jonathan Toews leading the charge!!!!! All this guy knows how to do is win! I hope we draw Vancouver first round and absolutely crush their hopes of any playoff success…. AGAIN!!!! mwahahaha! Can’t wait to watch them defend their title, GO HAWKS GO!!
